What about?

What about?

It took me a while to come up with words to describe this blog and myself. So here it goes…

I’m not who you think I am…so read between the lines

The blog title speaks for itself.

People say, first impressions last. Indeed but everything deserves a second look.

1995 > I’ve been writing as early as highschool. It started with doodling and composing short mushy love stories.

1999 > In college, I continued to write by listing the things I want to buy, and the people I like and hate in full detail. This year was also the birth of the tagline, I’m not who you think I am. It was a simple black and gray text page in a fashion magazine. It caught my attention…which made me instantly rip the page and use it as a notebook cover for one of my boring subjects…as I write my thoughts during class.

2003 > At 2o while looking for that dream job, I wrote about my frustrations and eventually stopped for a while when I got hired. Busy with work, things started to get chaotic so I have decided to straighten out my schedule [my life] in a planner cum diary. Most often, the year would end with the planner left with several empty pages. As I earn money little by little, I thought purchasing numerous cups of Starbucks Christmas drinks [completing those damn stickers!] would motivate me to write and use that sinful and costly Starbucks planner. Just the same, many pages were left unwritten so I ended my affair with pen and paper. Anyway, as I was slowly enslaved by computers, conventional writing [including my hand writing] became unbearable. But this doesn’t stop me from reading things in print. In fact, I prefer it rather than reading through a screen.

2005 > This is when I began writing online through Multiply which contains random ideas, feelings, experiences, reviews, etc. It was a love-and-hate relationship as I end up writing, editing, then eventually deleting most of my entries. The account still exists mostly containing pictures and friend connections.

2010 > After five years, I finally found the ideal sanctuary for my thoughts and I plan to keep it until I can no longer type due to carpal tunnel. :-) After working for more than six years and having achieved the level I want [my target was 30 and I'm way ahead!], I have found a new purpose for working and earning money…that is…to travel, indulge and simply enjoy life. And when I retire, I want to live a simple life in a semi-remote beach where I can grow my own garden and raise livestock to nourish me…but that place needs to have Internet access so I can continue writing.

I’d say, I’m not a good writer. I write and speak pretty straightforward…make it blunt…tactless….perhaps sarcastic. I just speak my mind. I don’t have a liking for highfalutin words nor do I have a flair for profound words [except for a few occasions where I really like/hate the word and phrase while trying to incorporate it in my daily conversations].

Reading entries I wrote in the past makes me learn from it [my silly evolving writing style], stirs old emotions, mesmerizes me, and refreshes my memory as I tend to be forgetful. :-)

With this, I end the history and introduction. Thank you for dropping by and may you be entertained. Feel free to leave ‘constructive’ comments. :-D

Enjoy life!

Cheers!
