An Early “Trip or Treat” with the Dead

An Early “Trip or Treat” with the Dead

Myth of the Human Body

My friend & I started the day with a visit to the dead. It is indeed an exhibition of plastinized body parts in a gallery at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. Ideal for students, to the naive and nerds like me, what’s interesting about the Myth of the Human Body are the assortment of human organs with lung cancer, enlarged heart, and among others. Make sure you have taken your meal early on before your visit. Entrance fee is at Php350 per head.

Next stop, Libingan ng mga Bayani. Since we were nearby, about 500 meters. from the Exhibition, we dropped by this creepy cemetery of unsung and famous heroes [including past government officials].

This quiet place is disturbed by passing airplanes as it is just a few kilometers away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport [NAIA]. The graves with passing thru aircrafts made my photo shoot seem more poetic and symbolic.

the cross over...

Afterwards, we dropped by the cemetery of the elite at the Heritage Park which is right across the road. It’s quite a boring place since there were only few graves. But it is an ideal place for families and friends to hang out, have picnic or even fly a kite with its expanse green field.

And there goes my early “trip and treat” with the dead in celebration of Halloween & All Soul’s Day. :-)

Fort bus caught on fire

I went home early today as I wasn’t feeling well. There were few taxi cabs in the area around 4pm but I patiently waited. Finally, I got a ride. I was about to direct the driver to turn left when we realized the road was close. There it was, a burnt HM Transport Fort Bus.

As we were wondering how it burned, the radio announcer blurted a bus that has exploded in Taguig at 2pm. The bus exploded and engulfed by flames due to faulty electrical wiring.

Whew! Good thing, I didn’t take the bus. I must have gone catatonic if I were in there.

Rain + Venice Piazza + Sitti

Rain + Venice Piazza + Sitti

Hallelujah! Finally, the dark clouds have brought rain to the humid streets of Makati.

With a lot of things to celebrate, my friend and I decided to see Sitti’s live performance at Venice Piazza in McKinley Hill. I haven’t got a clue as to where that place must be. After several turns around The Fort, we finally found our way to McKinley Hill as we savored the cool breeze.

In its venetian-inspired theme, Venice Piazza sits among the corporate buildings such as HP and Accenture. The mall is relatively new with a few shops still being built. It showcases mostly restaurants (of varying cuisines) such as Kuse, My Thai, Old Vine and Tokyo Cafe. There are also fastfood chains such as KFC and McDonald’s. With its open air layout, most restaurants have al fresco dining areas. Other than these, Venice Piazza also offers a salon, a nail spa, coffee shops (minus Starbucks), and juice bars.

Since it rained, Sitti‘s live performance was moved indoors. It was already past eight but there were no seats yet as the waiters scurried–moved tables and chairs for their customers to enjoy live music while dining.

I’d probably go back to this place just to laze around and take pleasure of dining in an open space but…with utmost privacy. :-)

*Too bad… Sab ran out of battery so I only managed to take a few photos
