It’s like giving birth

I have no plans of having a baby but growing plants is like giving birth. 🙂

After moving into my new unit, I wanted to prove I have a green thumb and fulfill my life-long dream — a secret garden.

I saw these little plants creeping on top of my laundry wall.

On the left are my tomatoes and on the other side are hot peppers, which started to germinate on its 4th day.

Other than these, I also planted cilantro and onion.

To add some color to my garden, I was hoping to get some flowering plants but haven’t got a chance to drop by Tagaytay. Fortunately, I saw this alley in Kalentong market with an assortment of potted plants for sale. 😀

When your mom starts using Facebook…

She did and I was dreading it, hehehe! Goodbye privacy!  Hello paranoia! I hope she doesn’t start putting up her own blog….:-)

From 2, then 18, then 24 friends in 3 days! Her friends were mostly relatives and her previous officemates.

And yes, she has been updating her FB account everyday….she already has an About Me description which began with “Loves my 3 kids, loves ballroom dancing, blah…blah….blah…” including wake-boarding which I believe she has only tried once without her contact lenses on. How did she enjoy that without seeing a thing?! Maybe I’m just bitter, because I haven’t tried it. 🙂

What a disaster if she starts:

  • Be-friending my real friends and officemates…Oh my!
  • Likes or comments to one of my posts or even my friends’ posts.
  • Starts leaving lecture-type messages on my wall….
  • Worse….starts asking where I am thru my wall or thru my friends’ walls….I just remembered a friend who’s kid would look for her and leave funny messages such as, “Mom, where are you?” or “When are you going home, mom?” 😀
  • Lastly, I’d probably be devastated if she’ll keep on changing her status message….worse, her relationship status!

Perhaps, I’m gonna have to deactivate my account soon….hehehe!

An SOS to SLS

It’s been a while since I’ve made an entry and this is my attempt to SOS my SLSStressful Life Situations.

The months of March & April have been very stressful. Looks like I’m about to ace the list that comprise the life events stress test. But thank God, I don’t have to go through a marital separation or divorce nor do I look forward to a death of a loved one.

My so-called stressful life may seem petty for some but adding it up might just be stressful enough.

1. I just recently left my previous company [2 months ago], which I’ve been enslaved for 6 months. Leaving the company was the only solution I could think of to get my life back.

2. With Friday as my last day, I started immediately with another company the following Monday. I wasn’t too excited but just grateful not having to queue again in that dreadful office elevator. With every new office environment, colleagues, role, and boss comes adjustment.

3. Two weeks ago, I had to deal with a difficult neighbor. It was way too difficult[!!!] especially when you’re dealing with a crazy [literally mentally unstable] female neighbor who threatened to kill you. Specifically, she threatened to evict me from my unit, then eventually threatened to butcher me. So much for grave threats!

4. With the way things are, the landlord and the police officers remained to be imbeciles. It’s just frustrating to know that people just don’t care whether your life is in danger and will only act on it once the grave crime has been committed. Poor me, I won’t have a share of justice should I be killed by the crazy b!+ch [pardon my French] 🙂

5. I decided to transfer to a different unit as I couldn’t bear the thought of sharing a wall with the insane. I had a hard time sleeping at night, had been very careful not to make any noises….to the point I almost murmur when I talk and watch TV with my headphones on, had to check the hallways if she’s there, and had to even ask the caretakers to escort me in and out of the building. It was a painful process.

6. I’ve got only 1 day and a half to pack my stuff which I have hoarded for the past 4 years. I only had 2 hours of sleep to re-energize myself for the following day as I plan my escape without having her notice I’m gone.

7. Here I am in my new unit, barely a few has been unpacked. I can’t even remember which boxes or containers I have placed most of the items.

8. Lastly, am I even gonna be ready in time for a house-warming and birthday party in 2 weeks?!

Let’s see how am I doing based on the Holmes and Rahe stress scale.

12,000 hits in 12 months…

…that is the goal.

This blogging thing really amazed me. I never thought I’d be able to maintain this site for almost a year.

What a year!

And this year, I feel like I’m getting my life back — more time to rest, plan to travel, and of course share the experience by blogging.

And so…if I reach this goal, I’m giving away some of my treasures. It may not be pricey but a little something to share to my seasonal/occasional readers and blog buddies… hehe! 🙂

Surprise…surprise…

The chosen one will receive a message from me and have them choose the item. Items to be posted soon. Shipping on me. 🙂

Tick-tock-tick-tock to March 19, 2011!

*If I fail, so what? 🙂 I’m just inspired by the movie Julie & Julia. Haha!

What you’ve just read was a draft entry I made last February 24, 2011. At first, I hesitated to publish it since I haven’t got a chance to take photos of the would-be tokens. But more than anything, it was the fear of not hitting the 12,000 mark. But it did!!! 😀

Looking forward to open my treasure chest. Thanks everyone!

An Early “Trip or Treat” with the Dead

Myth of the Human Body

My friend & I started the day with a visit to the dead. It is indeed an exhibition of plastinized body parts in a gallery at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. Ideal for students, to the naive and nerds like me, what’s interesting about the Myth of the Human Body are the assortment of human organs with lung cancer, enlarged heart, and among others. Make sure you have taken your meal early on before your visit. Entrance fee is at Php350 per head.

Next stop, Libingan ng mga Bayani. Since we were nearby, about 500 meters. from the Exhibition, we dropped by this creepy cemetery of unsung and famous heroes [including past government officials].

Libingan ng mga Bayani

This quiet place is disturbed by passing airplanes as it is just a few kilometers away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport [NAIA]. The graves with passing thru aircrafts made my photo shoot seem more poetic and symbolic.

the cross over...

Afterwards, we dropped by the cemetery of the elite at the Heritage Park which is right across the road. It’s quite a boring place since there were only few graves. But it is an ideal place for families and friends to hang out, have picnic or even fly a kite with its expanse green field.

And there goes my early “trip and treat” with the dead in celebration of Halloween & All Soul’s Day. 🙂

Fort bus caught on fire

I went home early today as I wasn’t feeling well. There were few taxi cabs in the area around 4pm but I patiently waited. Finally, I got a ride. I was about to direct the driver to turn left when we realized the road was close. There it was, a burnt HM Transport Fort Bus.

As we were wondering how it burned, the radio announcer blurted a bus that has exploded in Taguig at 2pm. The bus exploded and engulfed by flames due to faulty electrical wiring.

Whew! Good thing, I didn’t take the bus. I must have gone catatonic if I were in there.

I hate mascots but this one’s definitely cool…

Like any other kid, I celebrated my 7th birthday at Jollibee. And just like any kid’s party, there should be a mascot. [I prefer this than clowns]

But my experience with the Jollibee mascot wasn’t so pleasant. It was humiliating….

While I and the other kids were dancing at the dance floor, suddenly…the mascot came out. Everyone was really excited and were jumping. As the mascot approached me, he began dancing wildly. Twirling around and blag!!! The effing mascot hit me with his big striped butt and I landed face down on the floor.

So parents, please…don’t let Jollibee dance with the rest of the kids. Let him do his effing dance moves alone…just like this:

Jollibee shows his cool moves while repeatedly batting his eyes!
